So our little guy loves water! We are going to take him to the water park on Monday and see how he does. We are trying to take all the special time with our boy we can because we have made a very difficult decision to leave him in Hanoi to live with Dr. Hong for about 6 weeks while we go back the the US and get our affairs in order. We have decided that we are going to go back to Hawaii and then I am going to come back to Hanoi and get baby and take him to our favorite place.....Thailand.
For us Thailand is a much better choice for our family. It really is our second home and that way we will still be close to Vietnam for when WE GET OUR APPROVAL....(yes, we still believe that is going to happen one day). We are very familiar with Thailand, have friends there, speak some of the language (as well as Thais speak alot of English), the cost of living there is less than 1/2 of what it is in Hanoi. We feel that with the very high rents in Hanoi($1200 for a studio apartment) and us not working during this fiasco that the best option is for us to go to Thailand during this time. So we will be sad for every day that we are not with Kian for the next 6 weeks but we feel this is best for all of us in the long run. Kian will love Thailand and Thailand will love Kian! So that is the new plan for our family. I hope you will all continue to follow our journey back to the US and on to Thailand.

Kim,Rocky and Kian,
How we wish you could come home. Your new plan sounds like a good one since you have so few options. Keep positive thoughts and we will continue to pray for you.
Much Love,
Auntie MJ and Uncle Gene
I as much as everyone wish this whole fiasco were over and wish you guys were back home. I think Thailand is a great idea. I hated the idea of you and the baby being left alone in VN. Better start saving my pennies in case I have to go to HI while you are gone to take care of numbskull!!
Love you guys and still praying things will work out soon.
Auntie Stephanie
I'm glad to hear you have a plan. The 6 weeks are going to be tough, but you're son will be in very good hands. Doesn't Dr. Hong have a daughter around the same age? Kian will have a little playmate, how great! We wish you very safe travels home and back again. I'm glad you have somewhere to go where you feel at home and welcome while you're waiting for approval. Thailand sounds like a wonderful place. Our good thoughts are and will continue to be headed your way in the months to come.
